The fight against cyber crime.
Cyber Crime is one of the biggest threats to organisations and individuals. 88% of UK companies suffer breaches, and every 19 seconds a business is hacked. Data breaches cause brand damage and in 41% of cases consumers claim they will never return. The average financial impact per breach is estimated at $3.88 million, and $840,000 in the case of ransomware.
Cyber related crime has grown significantly worse during the pandemic as millions of people worked from home, and with such short notice the necessary cyber protections could not be put in place.
The UK Government, working with the ‘Information Assurance for Small and Medium Enterprises’ (IASME) and the ‘Information Security Forum’ (ISF) launched ‘Cyber Essentials’ to help organisations protect themselves against common online security threats.
Cyber Essentials is also backed by the ‘Federation of Small Businesses’ (FSB), the ‘Confederation of British Industry’ (CBI) and a number of insurance organisations who offer incentives for businesses. Compliance is a requirement for any UK Gov contracts involving sensitive information. It also mitigates the risk of fines of up to 4% of global turnover for each GDPR data breach by proving compliance to the ‘Information Commissioner’s Office’.
As part of our developing security practice, Cloudpush has achieved Cyber Essentials accreditation and able to help clients review, design and apply UK Gov, GDPR compliant and Insurance approved cyber security measures. We’re also announcing a partnering with ‘CyberSmart’, an advanced cyber security provider, to offer further advanced security services including accreditation, IASME GDPR Readiness and ISO27001.
